Every wine you mark automatically is put in your ‘My Wines’ list for later browsing. That way, when you hit a wine store or restaurant next week, next month or next year you’ll be able to pull up your favorite wines. Show the wine buyer at your local wine shop and they’ll be able to help you find that exact wine or point you to something very similar in quality and style. Check out this article about the mobile site for more deets.

Meet Brahm Callahan, Wine Director at Post 390 in Boston. A wino born and raised, catch Brahm at Riot 1, Saturday 1-5!

How and when did you first get into wine?

I made wine as a kid with my family. We made it for our own personal consumption, so I was definitely exposed to the world of wine early on.

What are your drunken munchies?

Buffalo wings, if I can get 'em. No really, I have a problem - anything with buffalo sauce, and I’m all over it. Unfortuantely though, my drunken munchies tend to be whatever's left over in the fridge. And most of the time it's really old and weird.

What's the worst wine-induced mistake you've ever made?

I’ve certainly had a couple. . . . A memorable one was when I was in Napa doing a tasting with my dad and brother. I was dressed in a white T and jeans. Like clockwork, my first glass of red sloshed right onto my shirt. I had to do tastings for the rest of the day looking like I'd been shot with a shotgun.

Whats your favorite wine pairing?

Personally, I love pasta and butter and cheese, and soy sauce on top! It’s really good, you should try it some time. For wine pairings in general I like to use Riesling probably more than any other grape. Its versatility is unmatched.

If you were a grape destined for wine, in what region of the world would you and your vine-mates want to grow, and why?

If I were a grape, I would be pinot noir – from Burgundy! Pinot grapes differ dramatically based on vineyard to vineyard due to all sorts of factors, even if the vineyards are close to each other. I find it’s the expression of the grape is in its purest form.

Whats one of the biggest misconceptions out there regarding wine?

That it has to be serious, or hoity-toity. People forget that it's just grape juice. I come from a generation of wine exposure and a life time of fine dining experience, so I know my stuff. But no one needs to hold that over any one else, or lord it over someone who doesn’t know. You need to be on point, sure, but not an inhibitor for other people.

Hot off the phone interview comes Colin Quinn, Assistant Wine Buyer at Wine Emporium in Boston. Colin will be rocking both Night of the Bubbles and Saturday's Riot 2, and most likely lingering in the France section at Wine Riot. Definitely take advantage of his wine knowledge and ask him anything!

How and when did you first get into wine?

I got into wine right before senior year in college when I was living in Florence, Italy. The wine there was cheaper than beer. I really got into Tuscan Reds, and when I got back to the US, I scored a job in a wine store.

If you could live on only one wine for the rest of your life, it would be....

Pinot Noir, particularly those from Burgundy.

What's the worst wine-induced mistake you've ever made under the influence?

(Laughs)... No comment. Too many to talk about!

What's something great that you see in this our generation of wine drinkers?

They don’t exclusively like "really oaky chardonnay from California", and they're not just drinking white Zinfandel. They're a LOT more adventurous and trying all different kinds of wines.

If you were a grape destined for wine, in what region of the world would you and your vine-mates want to grow, and why?

Lets see... I'd be a Shiraz from Australia. I would wanna grow in the sun light and close to the beach for easy access to surfing. Think hot, dry climate.

(Editors note: Grapes are indeed capable of surfing).

Whats one of the biggest misconceptions out there regarding wine?

One seems to be that "overpriced is better", which is false. Another big one that everyone seems to fall for is that a Riesling has to be sweet. Completely wrong! There ARE dry Rieslings out there.

In your opinion, which country rocks wine the hardest?

France. Hands down.

Reppin' it for the ladies on this years WIU is Lisa Miller Ryan. Brought to you from Brookline Liquor Mart, Lisa is a free spirit who admits she's not afraid to finish yesterday's bottle with today's breakfast.

What's the wine that got you into wine?

My grandfather started this company, so I guess technically I was born into wine. It's in my blood.

Whats one of the biggest misconceptions out there regarding wine?

I think the biggest misconception out there is that the wine writers know it... and they dont! The scoring system is hugely misleading. People think reading about all these scores is going to tell you what the best wines are, but that's not true. You're going to know what the best wines are for you.

What's the worst wine-induced mistake you've ever made, slash made under the influence?

...Aren't we not supposed to remember them?! (Laugh). My classic wine-induced mistake might have been a good one, but could've been a bad one too!

What's your favorite OR craziest wine pairing?

I personally like extra dry prosecco with popcorn! And wine with hot dogs. And breakfast! I often leave a glass of wine from dinner out overnight to see how it oxidizes. I call it my ghost glass. Sometimes its good, sometime it fails completely... it's a learning experience. Either way, its great with breakfast.

What's something special that you see in this our generation of wine drinkers?

Total openness to anything and everything.

If you could live on only one wine for the rest of your life, it would be...

Champagnes! I could live on those forever.

You'll be found at this year's Wine Riot ....

Probably in France! I love French wines.
