The new Wine Riot Guide is being printed and once again, Miss Holly Gordon has blown us away with her amazing design abilities.
Once again we have chosen to use a revolutionary theme for the cover of the guide, and we were especially inspired by our new venue, the J. J. Moakley Courthouse! Read the details below:
Throughout history, successful revolutions have been accompanied by powerful and iconic imagery. For the first Wine Riot in 2008, our cover artist drew on Soviet propaganda posters for inspiration to create an image of young people taking over the means of wine production for themselves (and it had nothing to do with Shepard Fairey, we promise). For Wine Riot II, we've adopted an American Revolution theme and, since our event is on Boston's waterfront, we chose "George Washington Crossing the Delaware" by Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze. The original painting depicts General Washington leading troops across the Delaware River into the Battle of Trenton the day after Christmas in 1776. The message behind our image? The wine world is changing for the better, and with your help, this generation is leading the charge. Join the revolution.
