The Fine Whine Blog written by Ashley Lauren profiles The Second Glass' fearless leader, Tyler Balliet, in this blogpost. How did this "maverick publisher" create the brainchild that is WINE RIOT? Basically, he was pissed off about the snobbery in the wine world and felt like he could help make a difference.
Tyler briefly explains the riot - "The entire event is about learning and having fun. Most wine events only have one thing to do: drink. We created an event where attendees can take a quick 20 minute class, get their photo taken in our photo booth, cruise the menus of a few of Boston’s top restaurants, and talk with wine industry professionals. The whole point of attending is to get more information."
